We have different cultures in the world. Some cultures have different new year with the others.

For example English and American people have Christmas and they design a tree, give each other some presents and have dinner together. But all cultures do not have Christmas. Persian people have different new year. Their new year is "Norouz". Nouroz brings spring for Persians. They make HaftSin for their new year. Haft is Persian means seven and Sin means S. they put seven things that their names start with S on a table or the floor. Note that their language is different. for example they put apple and brunette. In English their names start with A and B but is Persian they call it Sib and Sabze. They have a 13days holiday for Norouz. It the 13^th day; all Persians should go near a river or the sea. They wish and then they throw their brunette in the water. Nouroz is a historical and old custom. Every year all Persians in the world do this things for Norouz.
